Eudaemonia /ˌjuː·dɪ·ˈmoʊ·ni·ə/  ·  noun

a state of flourishing; a life well lived, in accordance with reason and one's own values.

What is a good life, and am I living one? What would it even look like to live to the fullest, and how would I know if I were? These are the questions I keep circling, and the ones I come here to think through.

Eudaemonia is an old Greek idea. It usually gets translated as happiness, but it means something closer to flourishing: a life well lived, spent in the direction of what is good and rational and truly your own. Not the thrill, which is loud and passing. Not comfort, which only asks you to stay still. Something steadier and harder to name, the sense that your days are actually pointed somewhere you would want to end up.

I do not come here for answers so much as for the chance to look honestly. If any of it makes you look a little harder at your own days, then it was worth writing down.

New writing, posted as it comes. There are also a few poems here, written simply for people to enjoy, and more will come when they come.
